Hallitubes provide new surfaces for Biolungs! |
This novel methods grows certain types of greenery sideways, by enclosing the earth behind a plastic foil, and adding an integrated watering system. Unlike Ivory, which takes decades to cover buildings, the Biolungs, green from the start, are put up instantly with the building. Together with bikepaths on top of the tubes, they fullfill ecological goals easing acceptance of Hallitubes. Images below are from World Expo 2005 in Aichi, Japan.
