SUVs have an advantage in making lane choices based on more distant congestion
patterns only they can see. This, (and the deduction) encourages SUV purchase,
which puts sedans at a further advantage. The price of small size
of pin-hole cameras has collapsed, making it possible to attach a camera
to a relatively small external base or even antenna. We will be promoting
these cameras. SUV riding pollutes, consumes scarce fossil fuels and exposes
drivers to a risk which is not heavily studied during rollover simulations:
the effect of secondary course corrections. Typically, a SUV will during
a single swerve not behave much worse than a sedan. However, a secondary
swerve in the opposite direction is often necessary. Someone suddenly
enters an intersection from your right. You rapidly steer left, in the
opposing lane to avoid him, he was too close for braking. This brings
you close to oncoming traffic and you need to get back in the original
lane. Your top is swaying from the sharp initial turn. The secondary turn
will cause a roll much more quickly than it would in a sedan. We
hope the availability of these cameras will encourage you not to drive
trucks for your personal day to day use.
